The story of 6: Part 3

[Revised: December 10, 2009]

The Shadow stood around 7 feet, when he wasn’t attached to someone else’s shadow. If you ever saw The Shadow, he was a bit scruffy looking. The Shadow always maintained a small beard that circled his face and pronounced his chin. The Shadow wore this black hat which rested upon his jet black hair. The Shadow also always wore a good shirt that puffed him up in all the right places.

If you ever saw The Shadow in his shadow form, you would cringe with fear and every fiber of your being would halt in its tracks and dare not move least something evil smite you. The Shadow was evil, the purest form of evil that is allowed to walk the face of this earth.

The Shadow did not hold a name, nor let one stick with him for long. He was always known as “The Shadow,” and The Shadow made sure you’d know it.

The Shadow stepped into the Military Compound we know as the Groom Lake Facility. The Shadow hide in General Forbes’s shadow that casted fear into the men that walking by. Forbes never heard extra footsteps, nor heard the asynchronous breathing routine The Shadow used amongst his victims. General Forbes just had this terrible electric feeling crawl up his spin, which alerted him to something, somewhere, was watching him.

Forbes got his morning coffee, looked behind him, and dashed to his office. Something was driving him mad, this feeling of being followed. The feeling of being leached on by someone, and this feeling was something else.

Forbes went to his office, and as he took a seat, a strange shadow was cast in the direction of the door. The door shut without a trace of human intervention, the General let out a smile squeal of fear. A shiver left his spine as The Shadow materialized right on the opposite side of his desk. Forbes was frantic, rushing his hands around his desk for the handgun. No luck in finding the hand gun, or something he could use against The Shadow. The Shadow locked the door and stepped up to the General, the General let out a shriek of pain that no one caught.

The Joint Chief of Staffs, were the least helpful people on the Shadow Man’s Advisory Board. They were only interested in protecting their political careers and it left a vile taste in the mouth of the Professor. He addressed the members of the advisory board, again.

“I’ve been here for over an hour answering your nasty questions about how this action and how I disturb your political career. To hell with your profession, if you are unwilling to take any appropriate action…” He paused for the coming cannon fire. “You do not deserve to be on this committee, let alone in any respectable job that doesn’t pay more than 7 dollars an hour.”

The political swine shut up and rethought their position. They gave Professor Karros dirty looks.

“Professor, we respect your judgment, but we must protect ourselves from any incursions that your reckless group of employee’s will make…”

“Now wait just a minute,” the Professor spoke over the evil voice. “I did not come here to argue with you or to discuss my employees’ lack of political correct behavior. They get the job done and with the Lord’s help they get the job done right!” The Professor was satisfied that he had squandered their pride enough for them to come down to earth.

The Professor was never a politically correct guy, he never did things conventional or at least to the current administrations licking but he did things right. He followed the word of the Lord to the letter and he never let the political goons control his decisions. In fact, the Shadow Man Proclamation was written to force these political goons in a box which kept them from being overbearing and taking too much power. The Shadow Man Proclamation was also his fallout plan in case they might not see reason and make a decision that would not co-inside with his beliefs. Professor Karros was a ‘my way or the highway’ type guy.

The congressmen just looked at him with that same arrogant look as before. Professor Karros was sick of them doing that, it was bad enough they miss the truths standing next to them but it made it so much worse when they wasted his time for such would-be quick decisions.

“We’ll have to discuss this with the President,” spoke the Speaker of the House as the President walks into the room. “I mean will have to discuss this with our constituents.”

“You mean those highly paying corporations,” insisted Professor Karros right to the congressman.

The faces of those congressmen twisted as if the Professor said something absolutely revolting. Sometimes the truth was a terrible thing to swallow. It’s also too bad that this truth would be hid from the very same voters they wish to appeal to.

“There will be no more waiting! I’ll just bring to your attention Article 12 of the Shadow Proclamation, the ‘Article of Control of Forbidden Technology.’”

The congressman stopped him with a wave of his hand, to motion there new found acceptance to his opinion. They did not like the Professor but what they hated worst of all was being undermined. They passed the motion that gave EGT full control over the military forces assigned to stop The Shadow without a reluctance or condition.

The President of the United States signed the executive decree and said one last thing, “Congressman Skudo, thank you for objective corporation in this administration. It would be wise to recognize that we all fight for the same thing.” The congressman skewed his eyes to one corner, showing his disgust of the gesture, knowing it was fully intended to elevate the tension between the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Professor.
