The story of 6: Part 4

Professor Karros had just returned to Bermuda One and he was ready to receive the first EGT Task Force Tactical Units. EGT had trained special forces, called the EGT Task Force, they were designed to rescue employees from third world governments, safe guard the vault, and above all else assist Professor Karros in any mission. No matter the danger, these elite x-Navy Seals were ready for everything. To the Task Force reporting to Bermuda One meant only one thing, a task was going to be given and the Task Force would be sent.

The EGT Task Force Tactical Units are EGT and the Army hybrids, designed for crowd control and massive infiltration. These units were teams of 25 men from the Army, a 3 or 4 men from the EGT Task Force, and one Commanding Officer from the Task Force. It’s obvious that EGT stays in charge, which makes the Professor the go to guy for all things related to this mission.

Professor Karros’s first task was going to be finding The Shadow’s current location, and take The Shadow down. It’s a lot easier to say than to have done. The Shadow left no fingerprints in any governmental database, all anyone knew was they were looking for people that ‘believed’ they were being followed. From the Paranoid to the borderline psychotic, Professor Karros’s Task Force interviewed them all.

The Task force lost all hope, until they came upon a General Forbes who claims to have seen a ghost or demon from the pits of hell.

“That description fits him nice and good,” said Miranda Congswell.

The Chief Carrier for the Task Force, Miranda Congswell, was not easy to miss. She wore combinations of clothing that would make people wish there was an existence of the fashion police. Miranda’s excuse for her fashion statement, or lack of one, was ‘it’s a great cover.’

“Good someone has a lead. What did he say, The Shadow did?” Professor Karros walked over to a room which contained a small office that was the size of a cubical, only the ceiling cut down making the Professor duck to take a seat at the desk.

“He said, ‘it was weird,’ that The Shadow only had General Forbes log onto his computer and visit a web site.” The Carrier took liking to the couch that rested directly under the window, on the side of the wall where the entrance was. “The General claims that he had a dual sweep of the area 51 servers and his personal computer done. He also claims that his ‘top dogs’ I. T. guys could not find a trace of anything, not even the history file for the site The Shadow had him visited.”

“Wait did you say? Area 51? The Groom Lake Facility?” Professor Karros’s face quenched with danger and slight concern for the people that worked there. “And they found no trace of a virus? Not a trace of the site?”

“Yes, that’s what makes it so strange. Not even a cookie.” Miranda looked up, so lackadaisical at the moment, so at peace and serenity.

Professor Karros jumped off his chair, barely nicking the wall above him because he had braced for impact.

“Go tell General Forbes to do a full sweep of his servers using a biomagnetic filter. I want the results on my desk in 48 hours. Go.” Professor Karros pondered something, than noticed Miranda’s shadow came across the floor as she went to go tell the General. “Wait! Where did you say the interview with the General took place?”

“The Fifth Section of the Pentagon,” she looked behind her to Professor Karros and smiled, “Why? Something a miss?”

“Yes. The President was due to stop by the pentagon at 1200 today, right after your conversation with General Forbes.” The Professor’s face showed signs of puzzlement.

“But that would mean…” She stopped. Not hesitating, not even for a second. She swung down to the rising tiles and swopped out into the Communications room which resided a single phone. Its color was red.

Jarred’s team of Navy Seal recruits, which made up EGT Task Force One, was not an accident. They were all handpicked by Jarred himself, and received special Task Force training of the highest caliber. They were cut of the mill marines, tattoos and well trained physique. They were good at stealth and good at preparedness, the many traits of their current job.

Not only did Jarred’s task force work as his security team during the day, they doubled as EGT’s biggest force of power for anything. If a Navy Seal could not get a mission done, or was left and captured, these were the men called on by the government. Jarred’s team were the men that go unnoticed, but if his team showed up and you were on the wrong side, it meant emanate destruction of whatever you were planning.

Professor Karros had them watch the President of the united States ‘just-in-case.’ The Professor said, ‘Just in case, The Shadow tries something.’ They’ve been watching him since Professor Karros’s meeting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, even the President or The Secret Service didn’t know. No one knew that the biggest Task Force team was deployed to watch the President of the Unites States of America. EGT Task Force One are professionals, they could watch the President 30-50 feet away. This team has been watching the President with all the High Tech Wizardry that Sealfy and the Black Sciences division of EGT had designed over the past couple years. You name it they have access to it.

They’ve been watching the president for what seems like hours, when suddenly they went into full alert. The president had picked up the phone, the little red one on the corner of his White House desk. The emergency only phone, the one that scream nuclear death or potential assentation attempts.

‘Dam it,’ The Shadow was thinking as he recognized the Luvana Hotel was taking more garbage out than usual, especially more empty pizza boxes. The black-ops people he had wanted to avoid were on the scene. EGT Task Force One – Jarred’s team!

The Shadow slowly went by them, undetected. The Shadow winced at the site of some of the High tech gadgets that made up Task Force One’s encampment - room 201. He quickly marked all the gadgets down into memory, than leached onto one of the Hotel maid’s shadow and just walked away.

The Shadow got to a pay phone, inserted something that looked like a quarter but wasn’t. The Shadow of the maid just vanished into the phone and was gone without a trace or a merit to The Shadow’s cunning masquerade. No one would know that The Shadow new all, and now he knew what he was up against. He would be ready for everything, even the top of the line Navy Seal recruits Jarred has, would not be able to foil part 1 of his plan. The Professor would have nothing, but the headlines of tomorrow news to tell him what part 1 of his plan, so at least thought The Shadow.
